The First Night Project was conceived to provide a vital aspect of the welfare of teenage pediatric cancer patients: comfort. Each care package contains high quality, long-lasting amenities curated with the intent to improve the comfortability of hospital care wherever possible. Each care package has a retail value of $400, and throughout its operation, The First Night Project has ensured that not a single dollar has been spent without intention, care, and reliability.

Special-Curated Amenities

Each care package is composed of hand-picked amenities built on the experiences of Founder Harry McGovern and his own experience with Stage IV Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. Harry sought to emphasize improved bedding, toiletries, and dining options for the next generation of teenage cancer patients. As such, every care package created by The First Night Project contains a memory foam pillow, woven throw blanket, lavender-scented body wash, Patagonia backpack, and $100 in gift-cards to local restaurants for each hospital location.

To ensure that quality-of-care is improved as early as possible, care packages are delivered within the first few day of in-patient admission.
